Nothing official has been revealed, though we can expect the brand-new 2026 Jeep Recon to be offered at an MSRP price of around $60,000 to $70,000 in Canada. There is talk about 3 to 4 trims which should include the popular Trail, Overland and Rubicon, on top of a potential performance trim, the Moab.

This trim should proudly boast Jeep’s Trail-Rated badge, awarded to vehicles that excel in off-road settings, and which have proven their worth through rigorous testing. These tests focus on 5 key characteristics: ground clearance, traction, manoeuvrability, articulation and water fording. Obtaining a Trail-Rated badge is no small feat; in fact, it demonstrates astounding prowess is the most demanding all-terrain conditions. But given Jeep’s vehicle history, it comes as no surprise that the manufacturer has created models that can tackle them with ease!

But rest assured: whether you select this performance trim or not, you can still expect the same legendary off-road capabilities worthy of a Jeep.

2026 Jeep Recon: Range, Engine and Performance

Even though we do not have official details regarding the engine on the new 2026 Jeep Recon, offered at a cost soon to be revealed, we do know that it will be built on the STLA large platform, with which we are already familiar.

This indicates that we can expect a dual-motor setup with a 100.5-kWh battery, which is estimated to produce 500 horsepower and 524 lb-ft. of torque. As for the performance trim, rumour has it that it could reach an astounding 600 horsepower. So even though the Recon is set to offer a fully electric alternative to the Wrangler, for comparison, the 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe develops 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft.

So, if you were under the impression that a fully electric vehicle might not meet your performance needs, think again! And not only are the Jeep Recon mpg numbers at zero, you should also be able to drive for around 483 km before having to stop to recharge.

2026 Jeep Recon: Exterior Design

Being an off-road focused electric model, this Jeep SUV should share some similarities with the Wrangler, though it is said to be more rounded, futuristic and streamlined, which are traits that could be compared to the Wagoneer S. It will have a silhouette that is uniquely its own and from the pictures available for the production model, the doors will be removable.

There should also be all-terrain features like tow hooks, underbody protection and off-road tires, along with electronic locking differentials and selectable terrain management.

Weight and Dimensions: 2026 Jeep Recon

When it comes to the Jeep Recon and its dimensions and weight, they should be similar to those of the Wrangler, which means that it will be a midsize SUV larger than the compact 2025 Jeep Compass, and smaller than the Wagoneer. But given that it is built on the STLA large, which is also the one on which the 2-row Cherokee rests, they might also share some similarities in size.
